We've expanded our services to include mental health support for adults of all ages. But don't worry - we will continue to offer excellent therapy services designed specifically for teens. And you can schedule with Kate on our new site:

Kate Ketchum, MA, LPCC

I help tween, teens and young adults express and process in a holistic and healthy way for the purpose of discovering their true self and freedom. My therapeutic approach focuses on integration. I like to think of each person as a mosaic; each containing many broken pieces that, when integrated, create something beautiful and whole.

I do my best work with teens struggling with anxiety, low-self esteem, depression, self-harm, anger and relational issues.

As a therapist, it is my hope to remind people of their value by being fully present, genuinely curious and making them feel heard and safe. I think the teen years are wildly beautiful and difficult to navigate at times. These years are crucial for identity development and it is my great joy to support and be with teenagers on this journey.

My Experience

• I have a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary (CACREP accredited) with an additional concentration in Family Systems therapy and Child Development.
• I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and English from Oklahoma State University.
• I have post-graduate training in Marriage and Family Therapy and Play Therapy.
• I am ASIST certified (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).

I love working with teens to...

...provide them with a safe place to get curious, learn and grow. I enjoy using narrative therapy as an avenue to explore each person’s unique story and take ownership of their choices and life. I also believe in the power of play as a means of expression and symbolism. Many times, it can be difficult to communicate or process our experiences with words. Play allows for therapy to go beyond words and is both a fun and powerful integrative approach to healing. Finally, I enjoy working with a systemic lens to help mend, build and sustain relationships. Our families are the first system we enter into and learn from, and I believe deeply in creating a safe place for families to dialogue, learn and grow together.

When I'm not working with clients...

I love time with my husband, friends and family. I love running, skiing, hiking, camping, traveling, yoga and almost anything that involves being outside and adventuring. I am also a reading fanatic (fun fact: BIG Harry Potter fan), an avid podcast listener, and lover of coffee and puns.
