Robert Browning, M.S., LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I knew pretty early on that I wanted to become a counselor.  In between playing videogames in college, I found a love for two things; the human mind and working with young people.  From working at a youth summer camp to being a residential advisor in a freshmen residence hall, I love learning from and working with young people as they journey through life.

I do my best work with teens who are struggling with identity, emotions, relationships, and finding their place in the world.

As a member of the LGBTQ community, I have a passion for working with young people who may have difficulty with the unique challenges that come with being part of the community.

Kate Ketchum, MA, LPCC

Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate,                                            Director of Outreach & Engagement

I do my best work with teens struggling with anxiety, low-self esteem, depression, self-harm, anger and relational issues.
As a therapist, it is my hope to remind people of their value by being fully present, genuinely curious and making them feel heard and safe. I think the teen years are wildly beautiful and difficult to navigate at times. These years are crucial for identity development and it is my great joy to support and be with teenagers on this journey.

  • Available for telehealth sessions.
  • Available for family therapy or parent coaching sessions

Hilary Duesenberg, M.A. LPCC

Licensed Professional Counselor,

EMDR Therapist

I became a therapist because I believe in the power and change of relationship. I began my own journey with therapy at 18 and have since experienced, both as a client and clinician, the amazing change that therapy can bring.

I do my best work with teens who are struggling to find and create their identity. I feel privileged to walk alongside teens through their past, and then be able to choose how they want to live their present and future.

  • Available in person Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays
  • Available via telehealth on Mondays

Lauren Waag, MSW LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Clinical Director

I first fell in love with social work as a freshman in college and haven’t stopped loving it since. My counseling experience comes from working in a variety of settings including at a behavioral school, forensic hospital and an inpatient psychiatric hospital with adolescents. My passion is walking with teenagers on their journey of self-discovery and providing tools to help them and their family along the way. I believe it is important to have resources to cope with day-to-day stressors or the big stressors like choosing a college or dealing with major life events in order to move through these events in the best way possible. My focus is working with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidality, and trauma.

Ashley Jara, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I became a therapist because I find joy in joining others on their unique journey. I believe in the impact of a supportive relationship, mindful thoughts and movement, and find gratitude in the privilege of working with my clients.

I do my best work with teens who are looking to build a healthy relationship within themselves and others, build healthy coping skills for life’s daily struggles, and are looking to build on their own personal strengths.

  • Available via telehealth

Alexandra Papa, M.A., LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I wanted to be a counselor since my high school internship with an elementary school counselor. I am a Colorado native that moved across the country for my high school years so I empathize with those who go through significant transitions. I have been a camp counselor, a mentor, a tutor, a school therapist and school counselor working with high school and elementary students. My focus has been on helping kids create attainable goals and work on their anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. I have facilitated small groups such as Smart-Girls that focus on coping and anti-bullying skills.

  • Available in-person or via telehealth on Tuesdays

Cheryl Somers, MA, LPC

Owner/Executive Director

I love working with teenagers!  I spent the early years of my career as a middle school teacher, then a school counselor, and now a teen therapist.  I opened Colorado Teen Therapy to give teens and parents a place devoted specifically to their unique needs.  I believe teens will only be open to support once they trust that they are being heard without judgment and accepted just as they are.
I do my best work with teens who are avoiding school or other difficult situations, withdrawing from family and friends, and feeling paralyzed by anxiety by helping them see their strengths more clearly to feel empowered and capable of tackling the parts of life that feel overwhelming.

*Cheryl is not currently accepting new clients, with the exception of new mother/daughter communication coaching clients.
